This is a project shrouded in mystery, just like it’s creator. Brent has been an ever present, yet distant rock, for Decentraland, but more so for DCL Plazas over the years. If there was ever a definition of a “Creative", then Brent would be it. Living entirely off the grid, in X country, he is close to being self sufficient in the real world, living many miles away from any town or city, yet devotes a fair proportion of his time and attention to creating a virtual oasis for the world to enjoy. He is already living in the distant future, and will probably be one of the first ever virtual inhabitants. Everyone should enjoy his creations…

How did you find out about Decentraland?
Brent: Googling for a Social VR project I was busy with in 2017.
What first attracted you to Decentraland?
Brent: The promise “VR"ontier living.
What do you consider to be the biggest selling points for Decentraland?
Brent: Free economy in real-time 3D. Steadily moving towards inter-personal presence in a Virtual Reality Economy owned by users who, just as in real life, have to take on a certain amount of responsility in order to reap the rewards. Yes, folks. I did say VR and yes, I do truly believe we will get there.
What is JOTCBW?
Brent: Deep in the Black Crown Woods… I would prefer to let the viewer experience it for themselves.
Why did you start JOTBCW?
Brent: Decentraland approached me regarding their Creator Program intiiative. I chose this particular project as it offered a chance to get well… creative. I also hope to offer some small further proof that the Decentraland platform already offers creatives the ability to capture the viewers imagination in a thoughtful and meaningful way.
What are you currently working on?
Brent: I am a serial 3D experimentalist so there’s always tons of things going on at the same time. Especially as we move more towards a virtual environment.
What goals do you have for JOTBCW?
Brent: To craft this small story into life. For you as a viewer to spend a moment deeply engaged with my elements. To really feel like you are somewhere special. I sincerely hope that, more than any other project, my labours of love on this particular project shine through and inspire you to return.
What exciting things should we look out for from you in the coming months?
Brent: I am looking forward to rolling out Design Quarter District. The overall role of considered design is an important messsage, as well as an all too often overlooked or misunderstood one. I am excited to interactively start sharing vaious versions of design ethos.
Where do you hope to see JOTBCW in 2 years time?
Brent: I would like it to be cared for and meticulously maintained, to be visually and also technically current at any given time within my future abilities. To evolve freshly with new topics and themes. The crux of the scene is The Little Big Tree for good reason. A tree is alive, it needs nurturing and care to grow. Just as Decentraland, on the whole, has nurtured me, I am hoping do so in same spirit for those around our initiatives.
Will Decentraland become the lively metaverse we are all hoping for?
Brent: I have never had any doubt, even though the road has been a long and is sometimes a trying one. All we’ve got to do is is keep building, Exactly the same way as we have been.
Best of luck Brent, DCL Plazas owes you so much, a rare NFT at the very minimum.
